Whale Recipes

Fried whale meat

Ingredients:
300g whale meat
60ml soy sauce
60 ml sweet sake
1 piece of ginger
1 piece of garlic
½ apple
½ onion
½ Japanese radish
starch (katakuri powder)
lemon wedges
oil

1) Cut 300g of meat into 5mm thick bite-size slices.

2) Mix soy sauce and sweet sake

3) Grate garlic, apple, onion, and Japanese radish and put them into sauce mix (2)

4) Marinate meat in the sauce mix for 30 min.

5) Coat marinated meat with Starch thoroughly and pound off any excess powder.

6) Heat frying oil to 180C.

7) Add meat slices slowly into oil and deep fry about 30 seconds only.

8) When golden brown, drain and place on paper towel

9) Serve fried meat with lemon wedges.
