Pilot Whale and Ginger

Sean Kerins
New Zealand

Ingredients

Pilot whale sliced into small strips (amount depends on the number of diners)
2 Red peppers or green
1 Carrots (optional)
2 Onions chopped in slivers
Oil for sauté

Marinade

1/2 small cup Soya sauce
5cm peeled and grated ginger
4 crushed cloves garlic
black pepper
2 chillis
salt to taste
tablespoon oil
whiskey (if the fancy takes you)

Marinade the pilot whale in the above for at least an hour. Sauté the onions and peppers in hot oil for a few mins, until the onions sweat, do the same for the carrots. Set aside.

Lift the grind from the marinade from the liquid. Fry in hot oil until cooked (your preference on how you like it), when just about done add the remaining marinade and the onions, peppers. When hot it's ready.

Eat with rice or potatoes.
